Kirsten Dunst and Kanye West give celebrity seal of approval to Rodarte's prairie girl look

They may not have had their credit in Black Swan, but Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy were certainly not short of high-profile fans as their New York Fashion Week front row revealed.Kirsten Dunst, Kanye West, Sofia Coppola and Karen Elson were among the stars at this afternoon's event, as well some of the industry's biggest names including Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington and Anna Dello Russo. Even teen blogger Tavi Gevinson, 14, took time out from her schoolday to attend.

Proving they'd moved on from their big-screen snub, the collection was a far cry from the gothic ballerina looks we saw in the hit film. Instead it channelled the a Thirties prairie girl with tablecloth lace and delicate floral prints.

Flowing silk printed with photographs of wheat fields was set off by sky blue jackets and stiff-collared shirts.
Skirts were full and fell to the calf, while knee-high cowboy-style boots - by British footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood - added to the prairie girl theme.

Model Karen Elson said afterwards: 'I want to run into the corn fields and get windswept right now,' while New York department store Barneys called it Rodarte's 'best collection yet'.
it is a positive start to the year for the label, for which 2010 was mired in controversy.
A collaboration in August with make-up brand MAC was cancelled shortly before it was due to go on sale after a backlash over how the products were named.

The limited-edition cosmetics line, inspired by a road-trip the Mulleavy sisters had taken through Texas, was branded 'tasteless' by bloggers after they named a nail polish 'Juarez', after the border town in Mexico notorious for its record of sexual violence.
The designers did win back some credibility after they designed the ravishing costumes for Oscar-nominated film Black Swan.
But again, controversy emerged when fans noticed that costume designer Amy Westcott's name came high in the list of end credits, while Rodarte's was nowhere to be seen.
